Il Castello di Montignano
Castello di Montignano Relais & Spa is a medieval castle dating back to 962; it is situated on the hill of Montignano and dominates the surrounding valleys. Important noble families owned and lived in the Castle during the centuries; the latest is the Alcini Family, who now owns the Castle. Rooms and suites are named after the names of those families, giving the rooms and halls the charm of a glorious past without giving up all the modern comforts.
Castello di Montignano is now a heritage hotel with luxury wellness centre, meeting rooms for small conferences, terraces with view, a huge park with swimming-pool, a cloister-flower garden and a gourmet restaurant called Materiaprima. The walls of the Castle surround the medieval village of Montignano, like a precious frame.
Suites, rooms and apartments are named after important noble families who owned the castle since the 10th Century.
Luxury rooms with breathtaking views, suites with original stone vaults and old fireplaces. Big comfortable shower boxes or luxury bathtubs feature our bathrooms, each one with design and original elements.
All rooms and suites are different and elegantly furnished, using existing furniture creatively reinterpreted according to the style of the time.

In the Summer have dinner under the stars in our Hortus Conclusus, the evocative rose garden and cloister of Montignano, surrounded by century-old walls and green plants. Our restaurant proposes Italian specialties and boasts a wide selection of wines and champagnes.
In the Wine Bar, a beautiful sitting-room with ancient piano dating back to XIX century, you can drink alcoholics and non alcoholics and taste a refined selections of cigars. Cooking classes and wine tastings available every week upon request (from Mondays through Thursdays).
Acquadegna Spa” is named after Santa Degna, patroness of Todi, who, at the very beginning of Christianity found shelter right here in Montignano. Situated in the dungeons of the Castle, it is accessible from the rooms directly by an elevator.
The Roman wellness path starts from the Thermarium, a lovely pool with Jacuzzi , then you find the Tepidarium, where the temperature is 37°, and a warmer room called Calidarium. Then the temperature gets normal again in the Frigidarium, a cool waterfall. A real wellness journey through waters, immersed in the magic history of the Castle.
Upon reservation, the spa is open to external guests. Treatments are available in our massage rooms or directly in suite. The highly professional staff Paolo Caschera Beauty & Wellness takes care of your well-being, choosing treatments suitable for you. Some of our treatments: wine therapy in real wooden vats plus massage for two with grape essences, treatments with local herbs and Ayurveda treatments.
