Even if Umbria is not washed by the sea, this region is full of water: just a piece of information, the majority of mineral water bottled in Italy, comes from this region! The water in Umbria has been celebrated in art, in the realization of wonderful aqueducts and fountains that decorate the cities; it fascinated Italian and foreign writers and will know how to thrill the most interested tourist who would catch its relaxing charm.

Arrive in the reserved facility on Trasimeno Lake, room accomodation and welcome aperitif. Dinner with Umbria delicacies. Early to bed tonight: tomorrow there’ll be a surprise for us…

The rooster sings earlier today! Get up at about 5.00, a quick coffee just to open the eyes and we’re ready to watch the dawn on Trasimeno Lake, a unique emotion of colours. Nature slowly wakes up and from the absolute silence rise the songs and the sounds of the birds that crowd this area. Cappuccino and croissant for breakfast along the lake.

Meeting with the guide and boarding for a mini-cruise on the lake, with a stop in Isola Maggiore , the only residential area of three islands that appear on the lake.

Isola is a small and uncontaminated burg where today live 16 people, but in the past it was the theatre of the history passage: the first who discovered the importance and value of the peacefulness was Saint Francesco, who built here a monastery and created, step by step, a burg with a brilliant future. Here has lived the most active fishermen community of Trasimeno and, although today many partecipants are retired, it’s possible to find some of them willing to tell us some anecdots about the island. Lunch in restaurant with fish from the lake. After lunch, move to the facility and free time until dinner.

After breakfast we leave from the gentle hills that surround Trasimeno lake and, while moving, hills gradually become mountains and the landscape changes. Once arrived in Piediluco, you’ll have the impression of being surrounded by an alpine landscape! The small town extends through the edges of the homonym lake dominated by a beautiful Fortress of XI century. Few kilometres away there is Villalago, a historic dwelling of XIX century of extraordinay beauty, which offers a wonderful view of the lake from the top. Inside it we can find a 30 hectar park, open to the public, a wonderful place, very remarkable: among the most rare tree species we have spruce of Spain, red spruce, Balcan spruce, Lebanon cedars and more than 30 different species of spontaneous orchids. Lunch in restaurant. Only few kilometres divide the lake from another amazing water show: Cascata delle Marmore (Marmore Falls). A natural show …human-built show! Was the Roman Consul Curio Dentato, in 271 a.C. to design this clever hydraulic system that, with some modifications and a sofisticated engineering technique allow to mix the waters of river Velino with the ones of river Nera. Today’s result is a waterfall with a fall of 165 metres of level difference surrounded by a lush vegetation. At the end of a walk, for better working out the charm of this place, return to the facility for relaxing a bit and having an aperitif before dinner.

Breakfast and transfer to Castiglione del Lago. Enclosed in medieval walls, this lively location it’s perfect for walking, for shopping in the small shops or simply for having a coffee in the square and watching the inhabitants while they carry out routine habits. Absolutely, don’t miss the visit to Palazzo della Corgna (Corgna Palace), whose path leads directly to Rocca del Leone (Lion Fortress) and to its secret passages that reach the towers, from which is possible to enjoy a privileged view on the whole Trasimeno. Once come back to the resort, prepare for an unforgettable night!

Breakfast and then return to the originale location.
